This little salamander contains the same deadly neurotoxin as a pufferfish (tetrodotoxin, TTX) at levels that could kill a human. This is the rough-skinned 'newt' (Taricha granulosa) & it's locked in an endless war with garter snakes waged on the battlegrounds of the American Northwest. (📷AMNH IG)
